In the heart of Central Asia lies Mongolia — a land of vast steppes, dramatic landscapes, and one of the last truly nomadic cultures on Earth. Winters here are not just cold; they are extreme, with temperatures plunging to -50°C. In these unforgiving conditions, the Mongolian two-humped camel stands as a symbol of resilience and adaptation.

To survive such harsh winters, these camels grow a dense coat of wool that is naturally warm, luxuriously soft, and remarkably fine — nature’s own answer to insulation. Each spring, as the weather warms, camels begin to shed this winter coat naturally. During this brief window, nomadic herders of the Gobi Desert gently collect the wool by hand, continuing a tradition passed down for generations.

From that moment onward, every step of the journey remains rooted in Mongolia. The wool is carefully cleaned, refined, and transformed into garments by local artisans and processors who understand its unique qualities like no one else. Nearly a third of the raw fiber is lost during the rinsing and sorting process, leaving only the purest and softest wool behind. The result is apparel that carries with it the patience, skill, and cultural knowledge of those who shape it — natural warmth, sustainable luxury, and timeless design.

At Gobi Grace, we are proud to carry this tradition forward. Our story began in 2007, when our mother, Odonchimeg, founded the original brand Mcashmere, bringing camel wool clothing to life with intention and care. Today, her son Orgil carries that vision into a new chapter — introducing these premium products to North America under a new name, but with the same heart: Gobi Grace.

We begin this journey with our mother’s Legacy Mcashmere Collection — a limited release of garments crafted in our early years. Once they are gone, they will not return. We invite you to own not just a piece of apparel, but a piece of our family’s story and of Mongolia itself — while helping sustain the nomadic communities who safeguard the Gobi Desert and its camels.
